Directions to Gibson Ranch -

Gibson Ranch is located in the community of Elverta, CA which is northern Sacramento.

From the West, East or South (Interstate 80, Interstate 5, US 99 or US 50):

 Take I-5 north OUT of Sacramento. Approximately 5 miles out of town, bear to the right and follow US 99 north. Turn right on Elverta Rd. (It is the first traffic light, approximately 5 miles from the I-5/US 99 split.) Follow Elverta Rd. approximately 7 miles to Gibson Ranch County Park. It is on the left, just past a traffic light. If you encounter a second traffic light, you've gone about 100 yards too far.

From the North (Interstate 5):

Follow I-5 south past the Sacramento International Airport. Take US 99 north exit and follow the directions above.


Directions to Mariposa -

FROM FRESNO/HIGHWAY 41:

  • TAKE HIGHWAY 41 EAST.
  • TURN LEFT ON HIGHWAY 49 NORTH IN OAKHURST AND TAKE 49 NORTH ALL THE WAY TO MARIPOSA.
  • TURN LEFT ON HIGHWAY 140 WEST (MERCED) AT THE HIGHWAY 49/140 JUNCTION ON THE WEST END OF MARIPOSA.
  • TAKE HIGHWAY 140 WEST APPROXIMATELY 5 MILES AND TURN LEFT ON YAQUI GULCH ROAD.
  • DRIVE APPROX. 2 1/2 MILES AND THE EVENT IS LOCATED ON THE LEFT HAND SIDE OF THE ROAD.
  • LOOK FOR SIGNS AND EVENT PARKING.

FROM OAKHURST / HIGHWAY 49:

  • TAKE HIGHWAY 49 NORTH IN OAKHURST ALL THE WAY TO MARIPOSA.
  • TURN LEFT ON HIGHWAY 140 WEST (MERCED) AT THE HIGHWAY 49/140 JUNCTION ON THE WEST END OF MARIPOSA.
  • TAKE 140 WEST APPROXIMATELY 5 MILES AND TURN LEFT ON YAQUI GULCH ROAD.
  • DRIVE APPROX. 2 1/2 MILES AND THE EVENT IS LOCATED ON THE LEFT HAND SIDE OF THE ROAD.

FROM MERCED / HIGHWAY 99:

  • FROM HIGHWAY 99 TAKE HIGHWAY 140 EAST APPROX. 32 MILES.
  • DRIVE THROUGH PLANADA AND CATHEY'S VALLEY.
  • LOOK FOR THE CIVIL WAR SIGNS.
  • TURN RIGHT ON YAQUI GULCH ROAD.
  • DRIVE APPROX. 2 1/2 MILES AND THE EVENT IS LOCATED ON THE LEFT HAND SIDE OF THE ROAD.


Directions to Camp Warhorse -

Camp Warhorse is located in the heart of the Salinas Valley, approximately three miles off Highway 101. The property has ample room for trailers, camping and mounted training.

From San Jose:

Take Highway 101 South past Salinas to Hartnell Road (approximately two miles past Salinas). Make a left hand turn accross the freeway onto Hartnell Road. Continue on Hartnell Road until the T intersection. Make a right onto Alisal Street and then take the first left onto Zabala Road. Camp Warhorse is located approximately a mile and a half down on the left side at 185 Zabala Road.

From the Central Valley (Sacramento, Modesto, Fresno):

Take Interstate 5 (North or South depending on your location) to Highway 152 West (Pacheco Pass). Go West on Highway 152 to the left hand turn for Highway 156 West (toward Hollister, San Juan Bautista). Take 156 West to Highway 101 South. Take Highway 101 South past Salinas to Hartnell Road (approximately two miles past Salinas). Make a left hand turn accross the freeway onto Hartnell Road. Continue on Hartnell Road until the T intersection. Make a right onto Alisal Street and then take the first left onto Zabala Road. Camp Warhorse is located approximately a mile and a half down on the left side at 185 Zabala Road.

From Southern California:

Take Highway 101 North to Hartnell Road. Right turn onto Hartnell Road. Continue on Hartnell Road until the T intersection. Make a right onto Alisal Street and then take the first left onto Zabala Road. Camp Warhorse is located approximately a mile and a half down on the left side at 185 Zabala Road.

Directions to Duncans Mills -

From Highway 101:

Use the River Road/Guerneville exit (about 1 mile north of Santa Rosa).
Turn west onto River Road toward the Russian River Resort Area and continue on to the town of Guerneville.
Travel straight through Guerneville and continue on to Duncans Mills.
Turn left onto Moscow Road and continue over the bridge (about 1/4 mile). At the end of the bridge, make a right turn onto Freeze Out Road.
Follow the signs to the site (about 1/4 mile).

Highway 1:

Turn east on Highway 116 (River Road/Guerneville) and continue on to Duncans Mills.
Turn right on Moscow Road and continue over the bridge (about 1/4 mile). At the end of the bridge, make a right turn onto Freeze Out Road.
Follow the signs on Freeze Out Road.

Temporary Directions to Kearney Park -

Due to construction, we are recommending all participants follow Hwy. 99 from the north or south:
Take the Hwy 180 west exit and follow Hwy 180 west to South Bryan Ave.
Turn left (south) and proceed one block to Kearney Blvd.
Turn right on Kearney and in just a short distance you find, just before the park, Fair Ave. Fair Ave. is at the east boundary of the park.
Turn south and follow the fence line to the south entrances.
Parking is in the dirt lots to the south of the outside of the fences.
