Civil War Days

Thank you to our visitors, supporters, fellow reenactors and to all of our members who worked so hard to make Civil War Days 2013 at Duncans Mills our best ever!

Hope to see you all NEXT YEAR!

July 19th & 20th, 2014

On July 19th and 20th, 2014, the quaint north coast town of Duncans Mills, California, will become the fields of Virginia circa 1863.

Civil War Days will once again be on tap as one of the largest re-enactments west of the Mississippi.

Civil War Days

Civil War Days will give visitors the opportunity to interact with the soldiers and civilians of the Civil War.

You'll witness the camps of the Union and Confederacy, see how civilians lived and served with the armies of 1863, in what was referred to as the first "modern war."

This will be an event that will not only serve as an educational experience, but an unforgettable trip that will delight audiences of all ages.

For more event information go to the Civil War Days page.

CHAS's
"Sponsor a Rescued Horse" Program

The California Historical Artillery Society proudly uses retired Standardbred trotters.

These former harness racers were rescued from California's racing industry and retrains them as artillery horses.

36 of these horses now live in pleasant retirement on a lush 40-acre ranch in the Salinas Valley, known as "Camp Warhorse."

Now, YOU can be involved in their daily life by sponsoring your favorite horses and contributing toward their care!

To enlist as a civilian supporter, or for more information, go to the HORSE RESCUE program page.
